Eligibility Questions

Patients must answer yes to:

  • Are you aged between 40 and 74 years?
  • Are you registered with a GP in Kent or Medway?
  • Do you agree to your results being shared with you GP?

Patients must answer no to:

  • Have you had an NHS Health Check in the last 5 years? (This would include a finger prick cholesterol test)
  • Have you had any other check through the NHS and been found to have a 20% or higher risk of developing cardiovascular disease over the next 10 years?
  • Are you currently being prescribed statins for the purpose of lowering cholesterol?
  • Have you ever been diagnosed with any of the following conditions:
  • Coronary heart disease (including heart attack or angina)
  • Heart failure
  • High blood pressure (hypertension)
  • Genetic high cholesterol (familial hypercholesterolaemia)
  • Chronic kidney disease (stage 3-5)
  • Diabetes (high blood glucose/sugars)
  • Atrial fibrillation (irregular heart beat)
  • Transient ischaemic attack (TIA) or mini stroke
  • Stroke
  • Peripheral arterial disease (PAD)
